Our History

Planet Waves Environmental is an NGO registered in 2023, creating awareness and encouraging society to take “green” actions. We are currently an amalgamation of organizations (WSCM: est. AD 2015, SNTSUP: est. AD 2018) and individuals working for a common cause by making the planet better than we found it.

Who we are

We are an environmentally conscious organization of expatriates and locals, working together to safeguard our planet.
From Accra, Ghana and beyond, we are empowering communities to take climate action through everyday habits — creating ripple effects of change for people and the planet. Our slogan says it all:
"Making waves of change for a clean and green Ghana."

The current President is Naomi Suzuki Mochizuki; 2021 President of the Association of Spouses of Heads of Missions (ASOHOM); Concert Pianist and
Spouse of Immediate Japanese Ambassador to Ghana.

It is a women - driven environmental initiative committed to raising awareness, changing habits, and driving action on waste segregation, plastic reduction, and sustainability. Through educational programs, school expeditions, and community campaigns, we empower individuals — especially young people — to take small, meaningful steps that protect the planet. Our work focuses on promoting responsible waste practices, reducing single-use plastics, and introducing practical solutions like plastic buy-back centers. We believe that climate action starts at home, in schools, and within our communities and that everyone has a role to play.
